Southeast Boise

Video Tour

Southeast Boise presents an interesting combination of older and newer communities. It stretches from Boise State University to Micron Technology, which means that it includes all of the space between the Boise River and Federal Way.

The older part of this area is located just south of Boise State University and can be described as a mixture between the Boise Bench and the North End. The remainder of Southeast Boise has just been developed in the last three decades and contains many suburban style homes.

The first major planned communities in Southeast Boise were the older Oregon Trail Heights and Columbia Village subdivisions. All of these homes are conveniently located within walking distance of an elementary school and a middle school. There are also restaurants with delicious food, and easy access to quality grocery stores. There is also Bown Crossing, which is a well-loved shopping and dining district.

This area is across the river from the site of the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, as well as Table Rock and the Idaho Botanical Gardens.

From Southeast Boise, you can easily travel to anywhere in the city of Boise, as it is located at the intersections of Idaho 21, Interstate 84, and Federal Way (a former United States highway). As such, you not only have easy access to all of the amenities that this area has to offer, but you can very easily get anywhere else in this large city is well.

All of the homes in this area, as well as swimming pools and baseball complex, were developed surrounding the Simplot Sports Complex.

Overall, the area is friendly and down-to-earth, and it has more of an affluent feel than other parts of Boise or Idaho in general. However, the character of different neighborhoods in Southeast Boise can vary pretty widely, and can suit a variety of architectural tastes. There is a nice mixture of homes in Southeast Boise. Whether you are interested in a starter home or a million-dollar mansion, you can find what you are looking for here.
